*Beginners: You are requested to stay in the class in which you are registered. ie. Saturday or Thursday. If you miss any classes, you may carry only 1 class forward into a regular memebership after you complete your 8 week session.       

                             

 Class Descriptions: All classes are ongoing and co-ed. You may join at any time with the exception of the beginner session. Yoga is about finding yourself within the poses. Not all levels or styles of yoga are suitable for everyone. It is important to honor your bodys limitations and to come to your mat prepared to surrender the ego and allow the practice to unfold so that you may discover more of who you are from the inside out...

Beginner -  This class is intended and restricted to  those students with little or no prior yoga experience. Basic poses and proper alignment will be emphasized as well as learning basic breathing exercises.  (Note: Class size is limited to 12 students)

Gentle – This class is intended for those  who just prefer a  more relaxed approach to their practice yet are familiar with the basic poses and pranayama breathing exercises. Class will conclude with a 15 minutes final relaxation.

Level 1-2 – Suitable for levels one and two this class will be adapted to suit both levels providing suggestions and modifications for the different levels.  Students should be familiar with the Sun Salutations before participating in this level as well as comfortable with pranayama including kabalabhati, analoma viloma.

Level 3 - This class is most suited for  students who have been practicing consistently for a period of at least one year. More advanced poses such sirshasana, adho mukta vrksasana, parsva bakasana and other more challenging poses will be incorporated into the practice.

Seniors Yoga - This class will begin with a brief check-in to discuss the students current conditions and concerns. The class is intended for those with limited mobility due to age, injury or fatigue. Poses are done using chairs, belts, and other props to assist eliminating the need to move from the floor to standing poses. Breathing exercises to reduce anxiety and pain will also be practiced. Class finishes with final relaxation/meditation on a  chair.

Pre-natal - Gentle poses, breath work, visualizations, vocal toning, and meditation techniques all assist to bring awareness to your body while deepening your relationship with your baby. Prepare yourself  for a calm and confident labour and childbirth. No prior yoga experience necessary. (8 weeks sessions - pro-rated so you may join anytime.)

QiGong - A gentle, relaxing and meditative form of movement suitable for all levels. This practice is the basis of all martial arts. Qi means energy. qi gong is the life force. Practicing Qigong helps one to improve blood circulation, relieve stress, build body strength, and increased energy. Students practicing regularily describes themselves as more balanced and confident in their lives. Check out our qigong information page for instructor bio and more details.

NIA  technique- Considered a mind/body approach to fitness, NIA combines elements from the martial arts, dance arts and healing arts. NIA guides you with both simple choreographed steps balanced with free spirited moves to create a fun and uplifting workout. No dance experience required just a willingness to explore a new way to move.
