Sharon started on her spiritual journey over 18 years ago when she was first introduced to Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga Meditation . She feels this practice has been instrumental in helping her reconnect to her true spiritual essence while leading her towards a life of commitment and purpose. Her genuine concern for people's suffering ignites her desire to assist others along their spiritual path in order for them to discover the peace, joy, and potential that lives within themselves. | |

Sharon brings years of experience to her students as she has travelled roads that have lead her to both study and live at retreat centers and ashrams in Canada and the U.S. She overcame her 8 year journey with cancer by studying and implementing complimentary practices. She received a certificate course in applied and advanced nutrition from the Canadian Nutrition Institute in Uxbridge, Ontario. She also attended a 3 week health encounter program at Hippocrates Health Institute in West Palm Beach Florida where she learned the techniques of detoxification and rejuvenation through an enzyme rich live diet including raw foods, sprouts, greens and wheatgrass juices. She continues to maintain an indoor garden year round to support her belief in the benefits of these healing and beneficial foods. | |

She was fortunate to spend several months at Yasodhara Ashram in the Kootney region of British Columbia and Sivananda Camp in Val Morin, Quebec in the mid-ninties to recuperate from her long illness. It was here at the ashrams where she studied the yogic lifestyle and spent contemplative time while performing karma yoga, the practice of work as selfless service. Sharon has also studied at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox Massachusettes receiving professional training in Stress Management, Body Movement, Yoga, Meditation and Spiritual Attunement, Communication, Conscious Eating and Diet, and professional practice. She also holds a certificate in level II Reiki, is a certified hatha yoga instructor through the Ontario Federation of Yoga Teachers, and a White Belt trained NIA technique instructor. discovery. Her recent journey to India in December of 2009 both enriched and deepened her commitment to her meditation practice and the spiritual lifestyle.

Bev Fraser: Bev has been practicing different forms of QiGong for the past 15 years. She recently completed her teachers training at the Wu & Yeung QiGong Wellness Institute in Toronto. She is a strong believer in natural ways to assist the body, mind, and emotions towards wellness and has spent many years exploring these practices thru workshops and courses. Bev brings tremendous gentleness, warmth and compassion to her teaching style.
Nathalie Pelligrini: Nathalie began her practice of yoga in 2005 at Beams of Light Studio. She went on to certify at the Burlington Yoga Centre acquiring her 250 hours of professional training. She then decided to take additional training at Urban Yoga in Vancouver where she received her pre-natal yoga certification as well as studying pre-natal vinyasa flow with Michelle Cormack in 2009 at the Yoga Conference in Toronto. As a natural extension to her practice and in her life she is currently teaching Moms and Babes Yoga since giving birth to her beautiful son Nathan in October of 2009 .She has also taken the 8 week Raja Yoga meditation course at Beams of Light Studio to increase her knowledge and understanding of the yoga lifestyle.Nathalie is a warm and sensitive instructor who will nourish both you and your baby in her teaching approach.
Dave Price: Dave came to the practice of Ashtanga Yoga over 5 years ago seeking an antidote to the strains of his job as a postal carrier. With an aim of reducing soreness and stiffness as well as realigning his body, Dave discovered a passion for yoga he had not fully anticipated. He has become a dedicated practioner and has taken trainings and classes from world reknowned instructors including David Swenson, David Williams, and Dave Robson. In his own words he claims, "The learning never stops nor does the practice because life as a yogi is Great!". No doubt you will be inspired by his love and commitment for Ashtanga yoga.

Jessie Dosanjh: Jessie has been teaching yoga in the Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara regions for the past several years. She has studied and explored yoga in India and has taken many workshops and retreats . She continues to develop her personal practice studying with Hari Nam Singh in Oakville, Ontario. Jessie teaches at Beams of Light Studio on occassions and has been instrumental in the success of our summer yoga retreats.
