Beams of Light
January 1st 2016 Fundraiser - 108 Minutes of Meditation
This is our fifth annual fundraiser for St. Joe's Mental Health Foundation. For the past four years we have gathered to participate in a yogathon of 108 Sun Salutations to raise much needed funds to support the existing and new programs offered at St. Joe's.
For this year we have decided to slow the pace down and turn attention, intention, and focus inwards thru meditation sessions.
We will turn our 108 sun salutations into 108 minute sessions of meditation for the benefit of those challenged by mental health issues on a daily basis.
We will begin at 12 noon on January 1st with our first 108 minutes consisting of guided meditations and music. This sessions is suitable for individuals with limited or no previous meditation practice. Suggested donation from sponsors is $5.
The second session will begin at 2pm. with a combination of walking and visual meditations. This session is suitable for more experienced practioners. If the participant wishes to complete this session along with the previous one, Suggested donation is $10 from sponsors
The final session will run from 4pm in complete silence for the 108 minute duration. This is most suitable for experienced meditators. If the participant wishes to complete just this session suggested donation is $10 from sponsors and $20 if the meditator wishes to do all three sessions.
PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE SUGGESTED DONATIONS AND 100% OF THE PROCEEDS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO ST. JOSEPHS. YOU ARE WELCOMED TO MAKE AN ONLINE DONATION TO SUPPORT THE INITIATIVE AT WWW.STJOESFOUNDATION.CA/GIVE

January 1st 2015 Yearly Fundraiser -108 Rounds of Sun Salutations
For the past 4 years Beams of Light Studio has been dedicated to support the good works of St. Joseph's HealthCare Foundation by gathering New Years Day, to not only bring awareness to an important issue in our society but to help raise money to contribute to their ongoing programs for the mentally challenged.
We as yogis are most grateful to come to our mats and discover thru our efforts the wonderful experience of finding our peace within. We are fortunate to be able to do this daily thru our practice. Individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, bi-polar, schizophrenia and other mental challenges deserve our attention to assist in anyway we can to help them achieve the same peace in their lives. We are humbled by the great efforts that St. Joe's has done for our community and will continue to support them in their worthy endeavors.
